4 · Credit

Choose one, in writing, before work opens: ☐ Ghost — Client is billed as author; Writer is not named unless Client later agrees in writing. ☐ Named co-writer — cover and copyright page read “by [Client] with LaTrena Mitchell” or the line both parties initial here: ________________. ☐ Named writer — cover reads LaTrena Mitchell. A ghost credit may not be used to hide Writer on a later film or series drawn from the same pages without a new writing agreement.

5 · Fee & deposit

Fee: $________ (or $________ / word, estimated ________ words). Half to open the file. The balance is due on delivery of the draft named in clause 2. Late balances pause the work. Quoted studio floors are the floor, not a ceiling, if the file grows.

6 · Copyright

Until the fee is paid in full, Writer owns the pages. On payment in full, copyright in the delivered manuscript transfers to Client, subject to clause 4 and to Writer’s right to show the work as a studio credit unless the parties initial a full ghost. Writer may keep notes and a file copy.

7 · Kill fee

If Client stops the work after the file is open, the deposit is earned. Pages written to that date may be delivered as-is. No unused hours are refunded once spent.

8 · No promise of a deal

Writer does not promise an agent, a publisher, a bestseller, or a film option. The work is the pages.

4 · Credit — this clause survives

On-screen billing, main and end titles, festival submissions, IMDb, press kits, posters, and any sequel, prequel, remake, or series drawn from these pages shall credit LaTrena Mitchell as ☐ Written by ☐ Screenplay by ☐ Co-written by (circle one) LaTrena Mitchell. If another person is Creator of the picture, that credit may stand — it does not replace Writer’s writing credit. Producer shall not remove, reduce, bury, or reassign Writer’s writing credit without Writer’s prior written consent. A later draft, a later director, or a later company does not erase the original writer.

5 · Name on the record

Producer will list Writer on IMDb for the picture within thirty days of a public listing, and will not submit a festival or press note that names the script without Writer’s writing credit. The magazines that already named LaTrena Mitchell on Smoke Reloaded are the standard this desk expects.

6 · Copyright & license

Until the fee is paid in full, Writer owns the pages. On payment in full, Producer receives a production license to shoot, exhibit, and distribute the picture. Writer retains copyright in the literary work unless a separate, paid assignment is signed. The license is exclusive for the picture named in clause 1; it is not a blanket grab of Writer’s other books, shorts, or series.

7 · What this is not

This is not a WGA or union signatory deal unless Producer is signatory and a separate rider says so. This is not a writing credit on any other picture Producer may make — including pictures Writer did not write. Writer does not claim Lionsgate. Writer does not claim Flight Risk.

8 · Kill & pause

If Producer stops the work, the deposit is earned. Writer may pause if the balance is late. Credit under clause 4 still attaches to pages already delivered.

9 · Law

Scripts, treatments, true-story notes, budgets, cast lists, and unpublished manuscripts either party marks or that a reasonable writer would keep in the vault. Public facts, magazines already printed, and information independently developed are not confidential.

3 · Care

Each party will use the other’s pages only to decide whether to work together, or to perform a signed services agreement. No posting, no shopping the other party’s file to a third producer without written leave.

4 · Term

Three years from the date above, or until the information is lawfully public. Return or destroy the file on written request, except one archive copy the desk may keep as proof of what was read.

5 · No license

Reading a file is not a grant of copyright, option, or writing credit.

2 · The credit that is due

Billing, festival programs, IMDb, press, and any sequel or series drawn from these pages shall read: Written by LaTrena Mitchell — or Screenplay by / Co-written by LaTrena Mitchell if that is the line already published. That credit shall not be removed, reduced, or reassigned. A Creator credit for another person may stand beside it. It does not replace it.

3 · The record already printed

Where magazines or house pages have already named me on the script — including, on Smoke Reloaded, The Thrive Times, The Source, Los Angeles Feature Magazine, and Hustler Times — that record is the floor.

4 · Ask

Please confirm in writing that the Picture’s public listings will carry the credit in clause 2, and send the IMDb and festival listings to Editing_Writing@latrena-mitchell.com.

6 · No silence later

A later draft, a later director, or a later company does not erase Writer. If the collaboration ends, pages already delivered keep clause 4.

2 · Option

Author grants Producer an exclusive option to acquire motion-picture / series rights in the Work for ________ months from the date above (the “Option Period”). 3 · Purchase
