The Eyes of Perfection

Written by LaTrena Mitchell

A prominent art designer paints her life in three words — out of control — as she pivots toward despair, seeking help while no one responds until five hours past too late.

The Eyes of Perfection depicts the troublesome days of Camilla Ruth Giarrusso, a prominent artist born in Cincinnati to Italian immigrants. In the early hours of June 15th, 1968, Camilla’s life ceased during an untimely and unsettling transition from a cozy existence in Florence, Italy to an unstable residence in Jersey City, New Jersey. Detective Frank Williams discovers Camilla lying in a ditch, unconscious and barely clinging to life. Her prominence in the art community provides motives for investigators as the area is canvassed to determine the nature of this tragic and unexpected incident. During the investigation, personal secrets force immediate family members and close friends to sort out the unusual entanglements of her life. Camilla’s reputation as a passionate Italian artist masks a rather uncertain and unstable lifestyle. In sincere attempts to balance close friendships while maintaining her artistry, the life of Camilla Ruth Giarrusso is overshadowed by her disturbing, lurking past. Is that past what brought her life to a close, or was it something far more sinister?

Camilla’s Safe Haven

Written by LaTrena Mitchell

A shrine in an abandoned Jersey City house reopens a five-year cold case — while a sanctuary rises on the grounds of a woman the city never truly knew.

“The Museum of My Life… Encompassed by triumph over mental strife… Unraveled from fragments of the truth…” James Giarrusso whispers from solitary confinement as Oliver and Amelia attempt to cope. Two strangers meet in a rail car between Cincinnati and Jersey City and discover they have more history behind them than in front of them. Detective Frank Williams, alongside Officer Williams and Officer Norman, is appointed to investigate a five-year cold case with few leads — until a shrine is revealed at an abandoned home. Meanwhile, Ramón and Oliver begin a massive construction project for Camilla’s Safe Haven, housed on the existing grounds of Camilla’s former residence. Life has changed… or has it changed at all?

32º Degreez

Created by Richard St John · Co-written by LaTrena Mitchell

From Little Rock nights to the bid table: Jack Frost is a street-smart strategist building an empire the world cannot ignore. The temperature is already set.

Johnny Cold lived by one rule, Rule 32, which shaped the trajectory of his life and business. He ruled from the 1970s era and orchestrated a plan that would live forth in his son, Jack Frost. Alongside Johnny Cold was Jackie Maverick, who Johnny welcomed a path to exist within his existence. Jackie Maverick played an intricate part of Johnny Cold’s life while caring for his son. Jack Frost is now an adult with a family of his own. He lives by his own Code of Standards, derived from Rule 32 and implemented by his Auntie Jackie. Stone Cold Investments is emerging, but Jack is a hustler from the streets trying to maintain his legitimacy — and his family keeps pulling him back in, forcing an internal battle with every decision. His daddy, Johnny Cold, is a hustler. His mama, Artica Cold, is a hustler. His Auntie Jackie is more of a mother to him than his own mother; she is his moral compass. Jack is a genius-like figure who grew up in the streets, street-smart and now taking that intelligence into the corporate world. He is working to dominate on the legitimate side. He is not a killer, but he has killers around him in his squad. A ladies’ man like James Bond, he is always fly and fashionable — an upper echelon from the hood. Commitment is difficult: a girl hurt him at a delicate age, and the player life became a defense. Jack Frost falls sometimes, but he always lands on his feet. He is a smooth, intellectual gentleman with a lot of fight in him. He doesn’t know how to give up. On his journey to greatness, he will complete his goals by hook and sometimes by crook.
